Designed for makers who care about both their craft and the world around them, the Bloom Series combines recycled materials, reusable packaging, repairability, and a commitment to environmental organizations. Every detail has been considered to create sewing and craft tools that are made to be used, cared for, and kept. And because the colourways in the collection are inspired by Canadian wildflowers, there's a little piece of Canada's natural landscape in every pair.
What Makes the Bloom Series Sustainable?
Recycled plastic handles
All of the Bloom Series tools feature handles that are made from recycled plastic.
The Bloom Series Small Soft-Handle Scissors take this one step further with handles made from recycled, rubberized plastic, similar to the material used on our larger soft-handle scissors. The result is a soft and malleable handle designed for real making, while incorporating recycled material into the product itself.
Reusable packaging
The Bloom Series also comes in reusable packaging. Instead of packaging designed to be opened once and thrown away, the packaging can continue to have a purpose after your scissors arrive. Use the packaging to protect your tools, for storage, organization, or whatever makes sense in your sewing space!
Free sharpening
One of the simplest ways to make a product more sustainable is to keep it in use. That's why product longevity is an important part of the Bloom Series, and why we offer free sharpening on all of our scissors. A quality pair of scissors shouldn't be disposable, and we're happy to help makers maintain their scissors and extend the life of their tools rather than replacing them when the blades eventually need attention. Keeping a tool working for longer means fewer tools need to be produced and discarded.
Canadian Wildflowers Inspired Every Bloom Series Tool
Each fabric scissor is engraved with a Canadian wildflower, connecting the collection to the landscapes and ecosystems we're helping protect.
Every Bloom Series tool comes in three colourways:
- Blue: Blue-Eyed Grass
- Green: Canadian Milkvetch
- White: Trilliums
The flowers aren't simply decorative. They give each colourway its own identity while celebrating the natural world that inspired the collection.
